Les Faux Bourgeois

Ambiance: Intimate and Romantic, Moderately up-scale, very dim lighting and hard to read the menu

Seating/Wait time: Reservations recommended.  Sometimes they are extremely busy, and other times they can fit you in.  I've been there once and they had not seats, another time I went without reservations and it was not busy at all

Dress Code: It's dark and dim.  Dressy Casual.

Crowd: Middle Class, Family

Meal:
Moules Mariniere $17.00
Mussels in white wine, garlic and parsley, with pommes frites.

Conard Confit $17.00
Crispy duck leg confit, du Puy lentils, green beans and grain mustard jus.

Personal Remarks:  If it's your first time to a French restaurant you can't go wrong with their "Mussels and Fries" and "Duck Confit".  These are my staples at every French restaurant because they always prepare it differently and you always get the most value for your money with these two items.

Typically,  "Mussels and Fries" anywhere is going to be salty and at this restaurant the saltiness is there, so you should expect that.  The "Duck Confit" should be moist and not dry, if it's dry send it back!

In terms of quality and taste the restaurant a few points above average.  They don't do anything to WOW you.  This is just a reasonable place for a good meal.

They could do a bit more by giving you more veggies on the side and they do leave the plate quite empty with lots of white space.  The "Duck Confit" will not fill  you up, so you should order the "Mussels and Fries" too.

If you're planning on taking a date, another main dish is recommended otherwise your date will go home wondering who they should phone up for some McNuggets after.

Don't bother with deserts here, I looked around and they didn't appear appetizing or "house made".

Value: 4/5 Overall: 4/5
